Just arrived today 25th June 2024. Set to PC & checked detected in MSFS 2020 & will assign the buttons later. Ordered 9th June Dispatched 19th June Delivered 25th June (By Royal Mail) in UK . Will test it out & post again. Mapped everything up & tested it on the Ground as its too warm for a flight with the heat the RTX 3080 puts out🤣

In terms of money spent in the 2020 sim, I'm part of the 40K+ group and was very interested to hear the presentation about the Marketplace and future developments towards a 2024 platform. My take out is that if you own a "2020 item", you also own the "2024 migrated item" and visa versa. Emphasis on "migrated" (!) as it was also clearly stated that migration should be considered a release. A sign off by the developer is therefore required. Good news is that we are not bound to step in the 2024 sim immediately.

I want to correct my remarks in this video on FS2020 > FS2024 addons compatibilities: The presenter in the Asobo Livestream, mentioned that for all content that you have purchased in FS2020, you automatically own the migrated version in FS2024. Developers have to option to add a FS2024 'upgraded' version of their addon in the new sim; it'll be interesting to see how this develops.

Just a thought, I wonder if the aircraft developers actually HAVE TO UPDATE their product just to make it work on 2024 hence the update price... I genuinely believe there is a reason for them to charge an update price as I genuinely believe the changes within 2024 are not as straightforward as ASOBO are making out and without aircraft updates they simply wouldn't work... I still don't think that there is sufficient meat on the bones in relation to the technical architecture and the impact this will have on the XBOX and PC requirements. Stability and predictability are key for me. Currenly, I never know what new glitch I am going to experience on startup and that has been ongoing since I first got back into flight-simming. The fact that Asobo are unable to give any of the details at this very late stage speaks vollumes for me. The customer care culture that I have experienced so far leads me to believe that we will all go through another painful post-launch customer testing phase which we still experience with 2020. I really hope that I'm proved wrong.

It will not cost a pence more to move planes from 2020 to 2024, it will be entirely free (according to what was said at Expo). But optionally, developers can improve the plane and charge an upgrade fee. But if someone just wants the same version of the plane, that will be free.

Currently flying to VHHH. 27FPS RAM 15924 (I have 32 GB DDR 4 "3600") I7 4.7GHZ RTX 3080 VRAM used 6833 41% dropped as low as 1230 MHZ & peaked at 2040 MHZ. Didnt even get close to 50%. Temp is 51c. I want better performance than that in MS FS 2024 with the rig I have. Figures from MSI Afterburner UNCLOCKED

I get the idea is. Own FS 2020 version, free to transfer when tested in FS 2024. Dev produces an Upgraded F2024 version to take advantage of the new base. Own 2020 then pay Upgrade price. Dont own 2020 version then just buy 2024 version.

That has got to be the dullest Training/Corporate meeting ever & Ive been in a few at work. Bring back Fabio rather than listen too that again. Poor Bloke, he seemed really nervous but got the important info out & made it through it. I felt really sorry for him though. Will be interesting to see what the replay is like. He did say there would be NO FLY BY Camera unless you had recorded the flight but there is an instant replay option to see Take off & Landings.

A big takeaway for me is that MSFS will have increased aircraft fidelity, higher quality graphics, and improved systems such as the new flight planning interface. All very positive things. However, I really doubt that my good old XBox 'S' will be able to cope, at least without huge performance compromises. Methinks it's time to start thinking about an upgrade to 'X', or even a new PC! Oof, an increase to cost should bring actual improvements. I wouldn't buy content again if it was identical to 2020. Im also hesitant to even buy 2024 due to some long-term issues still in msfs2020, im looking at you, diamond aircraft.

Three take always for me. First MS is reinventing FS again with AI. Conversion to 3D mesh before delivery to the game is revolutionary. Next is that I counted and listed a total of right at 100 total new features/things. Most of them had reach. And last was that 79 percent of airport ad-on sales had a user feedback rating of 4.1 or more of 5. It is no wonder these airport scenery designers are getting INSANE with detail. Do that or go broke. I am going to post that 100 or so item list on my Facebook page. It is very much for real. Hard to believe it is that many things.

I can get to anywhere, but as soon as I near the approach it all falls to pieces and I always end up having to just fly in by hand - after messing around for 20 minutes, miles from the destination field. Could it be because I press approach way early - just to be sure? I'm hoping this set me right?

If you remove the Logitech driver there will be a calibrate tab again, I had the same issue with my joystick

Simbrief don’t even put the approach run way in and Navi dose but I can’t import it like simbrief in the plane so I don’t know 🤷 want to much with in game atc can someone show me in Navi how to import in the fmc with out haveing program the fmc approach runway

He man all this sound so amazing that’s how I feel but also feel sad that the no so hard core simmer might suffer as we don’t like to spend time programming the fmc Button by butten I just want to get flying and now they took off the would map planning that’s why I never use the pmdg stuff and other developers because of that still have not found a program that puts in the Sid’s and star automatically and that for me is a big boomer they should make it as for who ever wants that okay and who don’t still have the option not too

I’m on Xbox SX. Really excited about the navigation tools being refined and expanded. Console flyers are at a huge disadvantage here. Navigraph is great but too expensive. I would love to have Little Nav Map but it doesn’t work with console. If anyone knows a good alternative I’d love to hear it.

Seeing the MS/Asobo presentation (almost) live yesterday made me even more excited. So many great, new features! I really hope they and we can avoid too many bugs in the new release. 😉 I guess we will learn more going forward, but seeing the improvements to the scenery I wonder if we will get better looking hillside rivers and waterfalls. Coming from Norway I would like to see waterfalls instead of glimmering "silver bands" down the mountain sides. 😊 They have also mentioned improvements to road traffic earlier. I'm curious about that. And of course better and more variations in the autogen buildings. We simmers are a demanding lot. 😅 But it all seems good so far.

You know better than to get too excited about MSFS2024. It will take about a year to clear the bugs.

Not confident about ray tracing. Its 2024 and the 2020 buildings still look like porridge, never been sorted so can they really optimise ray tracing on series X? Doubt it. Like the sound of the walking though. Im not normally one for gimmicks, but this sounds like fun. Id love to see proper walkarounds and the persistence that we get in the comanche and tomahawk

I'm excited for the replay / flight planning aspect and ofc the new scenery but feel as though Series S might continue to struggle. I could be wrong 🤞. It's all very hopeful. Setting a countdown timer as November can't come soon enough.

walking around is cool immersion thing: with first-pirson view you can admire your aircraft, feel it's scale etc it works incredibly well in space sim games, there is no chance it would not be awesome in flight sim game!

The replay needs to be like the FSC replay or the Xplane replay. Having tried FCR then its not either of those. Will wait to see how it works.

I'm excited and pleased with what Jorg and Seb said about the new sim. It sounds great, and the physics they were showing (e.g. the wake turbulence) were fantastic! The Vision Jet in MSFS 2024 is FlightFX's. On 13 March this year, on their Discord, they wrote "We at FlightFX are both honored and extremely grateful for the opportunity to have our product, the SF50 Cirrus Vision Jet featured in the upcoming Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024." [Warning: 'Grumpy old man rant' alert!] I don't know how someone who bought the FlightFX Cirrus Vision Jet, Flight Control Replay, the Got Friends Edgley Optica, and/or the Reno Air Races pack recently would feel - a lot of money spent on things which will be given free in the 2024 edition of the sim. I know that these will be newer, updated versions of the products, but since most updates to existing addons are free, I think that anyone who bought any of them in the last couple of months or so would feel aggrieved. (I think that some of these products are now no longer for sale but I remember Jorg saying that they would remove the Vision Jet from the Marketplace sometime in August or September.) Also, although I agree that it is good that MSFS 2020 updates will be regularly released in the future, didn't Microsoft and Asobo promise support for 10 years? It sounds as though that guarantee (at least in terms of updates) has now been reduced to eight.

I have heard whispers from other streamers and developers that working title flight planning tool will be as good if not better than Simbrief and include all the fully working charts. But we will have to actually wait and hear it directly from the horses mouth.

I just want to know if the 'save game' function, which has been so badly broken, has been fixed in FS2024. If not, I won't be buying it.
